TAIT RADIO SPECIAL PART II

"'Down on Indiana Avenue, Wes and Jimmy man they played the blues.' John Hiatt, 'Window on the World'

Produced by Paul Leslie taitradio@gmail.com and Jeff Pike jeff@jeffpike.com.

We're proud to bring you part 2 of the 2-part Wesley Cook radio special. Thanks for all who tuned into part 1. Wesley Cook gets compared to a lot of artists—from Paul Simon or Dave Matthews to Bob Dylan, but the artist he sounds most like is Wesley Cook! Listening to his lyrics and his thoughtful melodies gives no doubt as to why he has been developing a very devoted following. His music has been featured in motion pictures and he is the topic of an upcoming short biographical film. On the last episode of Time After Island Time we focused on many of his ballads, while we play some of his soft songs on this episode, including some recorded live in the studio—We are going to crank things up a notch and take a look at some of his rock and blues-influenced music. We bring you the conclusion of the Wesley Cook special and we hope you join us for some great music and discussion. Tune in from anywhere in the world on Radio JimmyDreamz at http://www.radio.jimmydreamz.com"

RADIO SPECIAL AIRS WORLDWIDE!

"The TAIT Radio Program is very proud to present Part One of a 2-part special on Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Recording Artist and sometime actor Wesley Cook. What is unique about Wesley Cook is his profoundly deep and well-constructed lyrics. The variety of music he composes is more diverse than most artists you will ever encounter. Growing up in foreign countries, he captured many influences from around the world. But you will find some of his songs to be folk, some blues, some rock, and a healthy dose of beautiful ballads. His depth of thinking and writing, as well as ambition leaves some a bit surprised when they find out how young he is. Watch out for Wesley- he’s going to be big.
We welcome him on TAIT for a very intimate conversation and some unplugged acoustic guitar playing and singing. Be prepared to hear a troubadour you will not soon forget! Tune in from anywhere in the world via Radio JimmyDreamz at http://www.radio.jimmydreamz.com."

December 1, 2005 - Red & Black - Article by Krista Derbecker - "Cook’s troubadour-inspired lifestyle springs from his childhood, as he was raised moving around. He was born in Germany, moved to Turkey and lived in Korea until he graduated high school. Cook claims four languages and always has planned on learning French as well. But even with all of his talent, he still does not call himself gifted. Cook’s father, an English professor, made Cook memorize and recite poetry for allowance money. Cook still remembers many of the poems but doesn’t know most of the authors." Read more...

December 1, 2005 - Magic 102.1 - The Magic Morning Show Interview with Allen, Beth, and Russell allowed for regional exposure. "Persephone" was featured during the brief interview that morning. It is also the song that was used in the Cool People Productions' "Proud, Mary," a local film about human ambition, destiny and fame, in which Wesley played a very famous singer/songwriter. (in anticipation for dreams to come...)

November 31, 2005 - Flagpole Magazine - Article by Gordon Lamb - "When listening to his new album We’ve Been Here Before, it’s difficult to tell he’s never formally studied the guitar. His hands deftly pluck out intricate melodies and rhythms. His often-understated music exhibits tenderness, sincere vulnerability and lyrical distinctiveness...In a town full of songwriters, it’s always nice to find new songwriters that stand apart. And in a genre that so often gives credence to half-baked, half-written drivel, Wesley Cook certainly raises the standard." Read more...
